Why I Started Anchorline

Patients deserved better.

I managed a busy outpatient physical therapy clinic for years. The system rewarded volume and keeping patients for 20+ visits - not individualized care.

Anchorline was built on a simple belief:

  • One-on-one treatment every visit

  • A plan built around your goals instead of insurance limitations or generic protocols

My Approach

I'm Dr. Tim Salkowski, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University. I help active adults, athletes, and older adults overcome pain, recover from injury, and return to the activities they love.

Advanced training includes:

  • Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT)

  • Integrated Kinetic Neurology (IKN)

  • Blood Flow Restriction (BFR)

What You Can Expect

  • Individualized treatment every visit

  • Evidence-based rehabilitation

  • Strength and performance-focused recovery

  • Education so you understand why you're improving—not just what to do

Beyond Pain Relief

My philosophy is simple: pain relief is only the beginning. The real goal is helping you move better, feel stronger, regain confidence in your body, and get back to living without worrying about the next setback.

What Our Clients Say

“Working with Tim has been completely different from any other PT experience I’ve had. This isn’t the typical clinic setup where you’re rushed through exercises while your therapist rotates between 3–4 patients. Every session was intentional, focused, and one-on-one.

He takes the time to do a deep evaluation not just of the injury, but also lifestyle, sports, and long-term goals. His attention to detail and ability to explain the ‘why’ behind everything made a huge difference in my progress and confidence.

As a swimmer, I use lots of different muscles, and he was able to explain what muscles hurt, why they hurt, what exercises may have caused the pain, and the alternatives so it wouldn’t come back. He worked me through my injuries and got me back in the water as soon as possible — and now I’m back to breaking records.

On top of that, Tim is someone you genuinely enjoy working with. He’s knowledgeable, professional, extremely personable, and one of the funniest guys I know. I actually enjoyed going to PT, unlike other places where it felt hopeless and boring.

If you’re looking for real, individualized care — not standard, assembly-line physical therapy — I highly recommend working with Tim. I’ve gone to him multiple times for different injuries, and each time he gets me back out there while making PT fun.”

- Riley, TCNJ Athlete

“I originally started working with Tim about 6 years ago with a knee injury that wouldn’t go away. After a few sessions with Tim I was already seeing improvement, and a month later I was back to squatting maximal weight.

Since then, Tim has been my go-to for all injuries and impingements, big or small. He’s quick to answer and get me into the door, and I’m back to training within a few sessions.

Tim doesn’t just diagnose and heal the injury, he’ll work with you to find its root cause so that it can be prevented from happening again. Rather than relying on generic rehab exercises, he utilizes a variety of techniques and movements tailored to my specific limitations and abilities. It felt very individualized, and each progression made sense for where I was at.

For anyone reading this and thinking about contacting Tim, do it. Although extremely professional, working with Tim has felt like working with a close friend. He is a wealth of knowledge, and I always returned to sport shortly after our first sessions.”

- Steve, CrossFit Athlete

I started working with Dr.Tim a year ago after experiencing the worst pain of my life! The sciatica pain I endured seemed to have come out of nowhere and immobilized me immediately. With Tim’s help, I was able to sleep and sit more comfortably and regain a lot of strength. My condition did ultimately result in surgery but I  was back at Dr.Tim’s table within 4 weeks and on my now very strong feet. At 44, and a very stressful, long hours desk job, mobility is top of mind for me now. Physical therapy is no longer a response in my mind, but rather a part of a maintenance program! I have been back to a 5 days a week exercise schedule that ranges from Pilates to CrossFit like classes and seeing Dr.Tim once a month helps me stay in control of whatever soreness I am experiencing. I’ve learned a lot on form and injury prevention from him, and plan on a continued journey to my strongest self!

Insurance &

Payment Options

Healthcare should be simple.

At Anchorline, we believe you should understand exactly what you’re paying for and exactly what you’re getting.

We offer several ways to receive care.

Medicare

Anchorline is a participating Medicare provider.

If you have traditional Medicare Part B, your physical therapy visits are typically covered according to Medicare guidelines.

We’ll verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.

Out-of-Network Insurance

Although we are not in-network with commercial insurance plans, many plans include out-of-network physical therapy benefits.

We’ll provide a detailed superbill that you can submit for reimbursement if your plan allows.

Many patients are pleasantly surprised by how much they receive back.

HSA & FSA

Accepted

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can typically be used for physical therapy services.

Cash Pay

Many patients choose cash pay because it provides:

  • 1-on-1 care with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy every visit.

  • Longer appointment times.

  • No insurance restrictions dictating your treatment.

  • A plan built around your goals rather than insurance requirements.

WHY AREN’T WE IN-NETWORK?

Traditional insurance often rewards volume instead of quality. At Anchorline, we’d rather spend our time treating patients than fighting insurance companies.

By remaining independent, we are able to provide:

  • 75 Minute Evaluations

  • 1-on-1 every session

  • Individualized treatment plans

  • Continuity with the same physical therapist every visit.

  • Care focused on getting you better - not maximizing billable visits.

This approach allows us to deliver a level of care that is impossible to provide within traditional insurance models.

Your Questions, Answered

What can I expect during the initial evaluation?

Your first session is a comprehensive, one-on-one assessment designed to uncover the true drivers of your pain. We’ll review your history, discuss your goals, and perform a detailed movement analysis guided by orthopedic principles and a neuroanatomical approach to function.

By the end of the session, you’ll have clarity — not just about what hurts, but why — along with a structured plan tailored specifically to you.

How quickly will I see results?

Many clients notice measurable improvements within the first few sessions, especially with recent or acute injuries. Chronic or recurring conditions often require a more structured progression to create lasting change.

Our focus is not just short-term relief, but restoring strength, movement quality, and long-term resilience so results actually hold.

Do you accept insurance?

Anchorline is a direct-pay practice, which allows us to provide highly personalized, one-on-one care without the limitations often imposed by traditional insurance models. However, we do accept Medicare, as it is the only insurance that works well with our one-on-one model.

While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide detailed documentation if you wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients also use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to pay for their care.
